Quick and Easy Pasta Recipes Are Simple To Cook

There are many sizes and shapes of pasta on the shelves of grocery stores today. The hardest part in creating quick and easy pasta recipes is choosing which pasta to cook. Once you have made your selection, dinner can be ready and on the table in 15 minutes or less!

Boiling pasta is the quickest way to get your meal started. Start with an uncovered pot of boiling water, add pasta, and in about 10 to 12 minutes, your pasta is ready. The trick is, once the boiling water is on the stove, to get the sauce or other ingredients ready in a flash. Don’t let the clock fool you… you will have plenty of time to prepare a scrumptious pasta topping. Many pasta sauces are tomato-based, but you can also choose from a pesto or cream-based sauce as well.

From an expert in the kitchen to the novice, quick and easy pasta recipes can be delivered with ease. Keep a watchful eye on the pasta. If you prefer al dente pasta (more firm) add a little salt to the water and your pasta will be ready closer to 10 minutes; for a softer pasta the cooking time increases by a few of minutes. Timing is everything in pasta. Allowing your pasta to cook too long can result in soggy, mushy noodles. Test taste a noodle when you are about 10 minutes in to ensure your preferred consistency. When the pasta is finished, simply turn off the burner, drain, add a dash of olive oil to keep the noodles from sticking together and replace in the pot. Half of your meal is already created!

While the pasta is cooking, prepare your sauce of choice. For a tomato-based sauce, try a can of tomato sauce, a can of tomato paste and ½ cup of water simmered in a pot and seasoned to taste. You can add fresh basil or an Italian seasoning to give a burst of flavor. Garlic is another favorite to add. Top with parmesan cheese and the sauce is done. Serve over pasta with a side of garlic bread and you’re got a healthy, filling meal.

Cream-based sauces can be intimidating to most beginners in the kitchen, but they are just as easy to prepare. You’ll need a carton of whipping cream, garlic seasoning, oregano and grated parmesan of cheese of your choice. Heat up the cream to a nice simmer, add cheese and seasonings and stir until the cheese is completely melted. For Alfredo lovers, this sauce is sure to satisfy! Top your pasta with this palate-pleasing creamy sauce and serve along side a nice Caesar salad. Perfecto!

If a pesto sauce is more to your liking, olive oil will be your best friend. Saute’ an Italian sausage, or other meat, in olive oil with some basil and you’ve just created a quick and easy pesto recipe. You can use virtually any kind of meat or veggies you want to add flavor to your pasta dish. Canned seafood is a common ingredient, while others may prefer zucchini and squash. Either way, place that delicious pesto creation over pasta and dinner is served!

Pasta doesn’t sound near as complicated now does it? In a very short space of time you can have everyone sitting at the table with a fantastic meal in front of them. With the plethora of sauces and pasta at your fingertips, you’ll surely find quick and easy pasta recipes to make your mouth water!
