A good tofu cheesecake recipe could be what you need to eat like a vegetarian with flavor like you don’t. It can be so hard to give up some of your favorite desserts, such as cheesecake that so many of us love so much. In fact, if you don’t find a way to eat these fabulous foods, you might find that you temporarily lapse on your vegetarian lifestyle just to indulge in this sweet treat. The good news is that now there is a tofu cheesecake that will knock your socks off and keep you happily sticking with your vegetarian lifestyle.

You need to know that there are lots of different tofu cheesecake recipes out there, but you need to find where they are. You will be surprised that one of these recipes even includes chocolate. For this one, you will need a pre-baked graham cracker crust, two and a half cups of sugar, divided, two tsp. vanilla, six squares of semi-sweet chocolate, two pounds tofu, salt, one teaspoon almond extract.

The first thing you want to do before making this cheesecake is to drain the tofu for about 20 minutes between towels or paper towels. Put a cutting board on top of the towel covered tofu to add weight so it will drain easier. When it’s drained, blend the tofu, at a half pound a time until it’s smooth. Once your tofu is drained, blend a half cup of sugar at a time with the tofu and remove from the blender and move it to a bowl.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and melt the chocolate. This works best in a double boiler. Once it’s melted, add it to the tofu mix and mix well. Pour into the pre-made crust and bake it for 40 minutes. You can add strawberries to your tofu cheesecake if you like to give it a fresh pop. If you are someone who enjoys raspberries or other fruit, you might find that you like just about anything on top.

While this is just one tofu cheesecake recipe, you will find that there are plenty of others out there that you can try which are simple to make and delicious. The most important step in making a good tofu cheesecake is making sure to properly drain the tofu before cooking and make sure to bake it well. You will probably be surprised to find that your tofu cheesecake recipe turns out rich, creamy and delicious.

A Simple Coffee Cake Recipe

Not all coffee cake recipes call for coffee in the cake, because not all coffee cakes are made with it. Some would define a coffee cake as a dessert that is commonly eaten with coffee, or a dessert that complements the coffee flavor. Now, let us consider the coffee cake described here as the cake that has no coffee in it, but instead goes well with the beverage.

There are actually many different kinds of cake recipes suitable for coffee drinking and most of these recipes include fruit. Other cakes are sweet enough to complement the bitterness and flavor of black coffee, while others are creamy enough to be eaten with coffee.

Ingredients For Coffee Cake

For this particular coffee cake, we will need the following ingredients: 1 cup packed brown sugar, 2/3 cup all purpose flour, 2 cups all purpose flour, ½ cup butter, 1 tsp. Ground cinnamon, 2 tsps. baking powder, ½ tsp salt, ½ cup butter, 1 cup white sugar, 1 egg, ½ cup milk, 1 cup blueberries, confectioner’s sugar for dusting.

Baking The Coffee Cake

Coat a pan with cooking spray. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix together the 1 cup brown sugar, 2/3 cup flour and cinnamon in a bowl. Cut into the mixture the ½ cup butter until the mixture is crumbly. Set the mixture aside as topping for your coffee cake.

The other ½ cup butter must be beaten until it is creamy, then add the white sugar to the creamy butter and continue beating until fluffy. Add the vanilla and egg and continue to beat for a while. Whisk the 2 cups flour with salt and baking powder. Slowly add milk to the mixture, while beating very well until you have a creamy batter. Spread half of this onto the pan and set aside the other half. Cover the batter in the pan with blueberries and then spread the remaining batter over the berries using a spoon. Spread the topping over the batter before baking your blueberry coffee cake.

Bake the coffee cake mixture at 350 degrees until it turns a deep, golden brown color. Let cool before inverting the cake onto a serving plate. You may now sprinkle the confectioner’s sugar on top of the coffee cake in any pattern you might want or at a random way. As the name suggests, this coffee cake goes very well with coffee, especially the brewed coffee with its full bodied flavor.
