Have you ever just craved your most loved Chinese food but your usual restaurant was closed already or they don’t offer delivery? Well you don’t have to go out to get Chinese food, in fact you can make your most liked Chinese recipes right in your own kitchen. By just knowing a few quick and easy Chinese recipes you’ll make a big difference in your mealtime varieties.

Most Chinese food recipes can be prepared in less than 15 minutes. The easiest ones are mainly stir fried, in fact, the most time consuming portion of preparing Chinese food is often the preparation stage. In a few quick steps you’ll be at the table digging into your favorite dish.

A handy tip in preparation is to get your ingredients ready for use ahead of time. For instance, ginger root can be pealed in advance and placed in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for storage. Ginger root is a very common ingredient in Chinese meals so this one tip alone will save you a lot of time. If you are anticipating a Chinese meal in the next couple of days, you can also get the other ingredients ready to cook as well. Meats should be cut in small, uniform chunks so stir-frying is a breeze. The same concept is used for the vegetables of choice as well.

Just store your meats separate from the veggies in an airtight container or plastic wrap in the icebox. Be sure to thoroughly wash the vegetables beforehand. Even if you have a spur of the moment craving, these ingredients can be prepared in a relatively short amount of time. In the event you don’t have fresh vegetables readily available, a frozen variety will suffice. In most grocery stores they have special Oriental style vegetable mixes available for purchase. Don’t forget to pick up a can of mushrooms and some bamboo shoots. Canned water chestnuts are a good addition to most Chinese meals as well.

Regarding the sauce, or gravy, in your favorite Chinese meal, there are just a couple of ingredients you probably already have on hand. Use a 1/4 cup of soy sauce, a little oyster sauce and some sugar. You could always settle for the store-bought sauces, but homemade taste is much better. In the Oriental foods section of your local grocery store you’ll find several varieties of sauce and marinade packets that usually only need water and maybe some soy sauce. You can certainly create your own marinade and mix it with the meat you have stored in the refrigerator as well.

One of the easiest time savers is to be prepared, especially for those times when cooking time isn’t plentiful. Learn the shortcuts and simplify the recipe as much as possible. Experimentation, provided you have people willing to try new things, is an awesome way of creating and developing that perfect taste you are craving. If you find you’re in an absolute rush or surrounded by picky eaters, this is the perfect time to try quick and easy Chinese recipes!
